Applications:
We are using the system of "rolling admissions", so potential associates are invited to apply at any time during the year, but must complete the entire application process no later than two months before the beginning of any program. Late application is undesireable and may result in an associate being asked to wait until the following program opportunity, even if accepted.
Our goal is to respond to your application quickly-generally within two or three weeks. We will be requesting references from the people you list on your application form so please ask them to expedite their reply to our request. Once we have received your reference letters and reviewed your application we will schedule a telephone or skype chat with you to answer your questions and to share some of our thinking regarding your potential admission.
Once accepted, associates may wish to begin to prepare their Career Review. (You can start on this now - such an activity is never a waste of time whether you are accepted or not). Associates may also complete their Career Review as their first Output packet after their Orientation program.
Application forms are available online. You must create a log in to access the application form. By creating a log on you may also receive periodic news letters from Gaia U. If you would rather not receive these, you may unsubscribe.
Log in is under the main menu on the left side of all pages. We have found that our online application form works best with the web browser Firefox (latest version) which you can download for free here .
We also suggest that you prepare your answers to the questions that require longer texts by using any text processor, save it as 'text' then cut and paste the answers into your application form. You can fill out your application partially, save it and return to it later at any time. Be sure to use the button on the bottom of the form. You will need to provide a first and last name and a valid email address before you can do that.
There is a $50 application processing fee. Please pay this fee using our Pay Pal system on the left under the main menu where it says "Make a Donation" or by using the button on the bottom of the application form. We cannot consider your application until we have received the processing fee. You may also use the E-check system for paying your application fee.
Financial Aid:
Gaia University International has made a commitment to use 10% of our incoming fees to offset expenses for associates coming from lower resourced areas of the world or families.
To this end we have created automatic scholarships for associates coming from countries with access to lower resources. Our fee structure for International programs has three levels: E1 for those coming from countries with relatively high access to funding (USA, most countries of Europe, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and others); E-2 for those coming from countries of medium access to funding (most countries of Latin America, some countries in Asia) and E-3, for those coming from countries with low access to funding (many countries in Africa and Asia).
Please see more of our thinking in our Fee section. We look forward to the day when associates themselves can more easily determine their appropriate level of fees. Meantime, we ask all of our potential associates to honestly review their capacity for accessing the resources to pay their fees and to pay the highest level of fees they can access. Enough associates paying E-1 fees balance out a numbers of associates paying E-3 fees, which are subsidized by Gaia U. Remember that Fair Share is one of our key Gaia U ethics. This requires all of us to have a high level of honesty and integrity, generosity and initiative.
We do receive some donations for our Scholarship/Bursary Fund. We are seeking further support as we are aware that many worthy candidates will be unable to pay the full fees, even with the support of the E-3 scholarship. If you know of someone who might like to make a donation to this fund please contact us. We expect those of you who are relatively well resourced to donate to
the Scholarship/Bursary Fund in order to assist others to study.
Financial Aid (including the E-2 and E-3 scholarship) funds are still quite limited, so only ask for this help if you are unable to: -
- fund-raise sufficient money to pay your fees
- earn sufficient money while studying
- take loans or find other means of self-finance
We expect all Gaia U Associates to fund-raise for themselves if necessary and to pay some part of their fees. We are seeking to form a community of self-sufficient leaders who take responsibility both for themselves and for each other.
Monthly payment plans can be arranged for associates who are able to responsibly commit to timely payments.

Fees and payments:
Upon acceptance to Gaia University, associates who wish to enroll make a pre-payment of $500 or €500 to secure their places. Payment of Tuition and Fees can be made in two parts. The first part (half the tuition fee minus the $500 deposit) is due 10 days before beginning of the Orientation program. The second part is due six months later. Accreditation fees can also be paid in two parts. Half of the accreditation fee is paid at the beginning of the program and the other half when making the second payment.
In some cases we can receive credit card payments or bank payments on a monthly basis as a "standing order". Monthly payment plans will be discussed in your admissions interview and if you are accepted will be arranged with our Registrar.
Payments for board and lodging at our residential intensives are paid directly to the venue at the time of the workshop. Venue costs are approximately $35-50 per day. All further information regarding payments as well as all logistics information regarding the Orientation program and the venue will be sent to accepted Associates upon enrollment.
Welcome to our world....
